Zusammengeschlossen aus Israel, Korea-Kanada, St. Lucia und den USA ist das Dior Quartet das Quartet in Residence an der Glenn Gould School, Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
Als Silberpreisträger des Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition 2021 und Bronzemedaillen-gewinner des Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition 2019 gründeten sie sich im Herbst 2018 an der Jacobs School of Music der Indiana University unter der Leitung des Pacifica Quartet. Sie studierten bei Mitgliedern des Alban Berg,
St. Lawrence, Danish, Artemis, Ébène und Belcea Quartets.
Das Dior Quartet nahm an verschiedenen Programmen teil, darunter das Britten-Pears Young Artists Program, Banff String Quartet: Evolution in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Tippet Rise Art Center, die McGill International String Quartet Academy in Montreal und das SLSQ Seminar. Das Dior Quartet arbeitete mit Orion Weiss und Victor Yampolsky während ihrer Residence beim Wintegreen Music Festival und mit dem Rolston String Quartet, Axel Strauss und Stéphane Lemelin beim Prince Edward County Chamber Music Festival 2021 zusammen.
Das Quartett debütierte im Januar 2021 mit der Schneider Concert Series und war Viertelfinalist beim Bartok World Competition 2021 in Budapest.
Das Repertoire und die Projekte, die sie verfolgen, überschneiden sich mit ihren multikulturellen Hintergründen und moralischen Werten, da sie versuchen, die Erfahrung von Einwanderern durch Kunst zu erforschen. Das Quartett hat seinen Namen vom französischen Wort „D’or“, was Gold bedeutet. Es ist ein seltenes, elegantes und formbares Element, das für diejenigen, die es besitzen, wertvoll ist und oft an geliebte Menschen verschenkt wird. Am wichtigsten ist, dass Gold die Erinnerung an die Erde bewahrt und die Geschichten der Menschen aufnimmt, die ihr Form und Form geben.

Silver prize winners of the 2021 Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition and Bronze Medalists of the 2019 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, they formed in fall 2018 at the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University under the tutelage of Pacifica Quartet. They studied with members of the Alban Berg, St. Lawrence, Danish, Artemis, Ébène, and Belcea Quartets.

The quartet takes their name from the French word “D’or” which means gold. It's a rare, elegant, and malleable element, precious to those who own it and often gifted to loved ones. Most importantly, gold holds the memory of the earth and absorbs the stories of the people who give it shape and form.
